ComplianceEase Standardizes on Fujitsu to Improve Reliability of Hosted ServiceETERNUS Storage Solutions and Fujitsu's Enterprise Class Servers Ensure Highly Reliable, High Performance Platform for Industry-Leading Risk Management Solutions
SUNNYVALE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 02/04/08 -- Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation today
announced that ComplianceEase, a division of LogicEase Solutions Inc., has
standardized on a Fujitsu ETERNUS® storage area network (SAN) and Fujitsu
SPARC®-based servers running the SolarisTM operating system to power
its industry-leading risk management platform, including
ComplianceAnalyzer®, a hosted web-based automated compliance solution for
the financial services industry. With Fujitsu, ComplianceEase® now enjoys
unmatched support from the Fujitsu Customer Services team, and has further
augmented the level of performance and reliability demanded by its annual
SAS70 audit.
Headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, ComplianceEase serves the
mortgage industry with a patented, web-based automated solution that uses
advanced reasoning and decisioning technologies as well as natural language
processing to review residential mortgages for regulatory compliance in a
fraction of the time and for a fraction of the cost of traditional
approaches. The company's success is directly tied to the performance and
reliability of its IT systems.
"We needed to upgrade our systems with the most current technology for
better performance, reliability and security, and with our annual SAS70
Type II audit of internal controls on the horizon, the timing was ideal,"
said Jason Roth, SVP Product Development & Engineering at ComplianceEase,
referring to the third-party assurance certificate program developed by the
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to audit the
operational controls of financial services firms. "With the server upgrade
and the successful conclusion of our annual SAS 70 Type II examination we
highlight our commitment to the establishment and maintenance of
appropriate controls over our processes to help us ensure the highest
standards of quality, security and reliability for our clients."
Roth added, "We looked at several vendors, but when we looked at the value
that Fujitsu offered, both in terms of features and costs, and the
company's reputation for reliability and excellent service, our choice
became clear. Fujitsu exceeded our expectations with a knowledgeable and
efficient customer services team that assisted with the deployment and
completed the project on time and under budget."
ComplianceEase now has the capability to store approximately 2TB of data on
a Fujitsu ETERNUS4000 Model 300 SAN, which features redundant controllers
for high reliability. A second ETERNUS4000 Model 100 was purchased for
their disaster recovery center. The company has also deployed 10 Fujitsu
SPARC®-based servers running the SolarisTM operating system, six in
production and four in the disaster recovery center. Key applications
running on the servers include Oracle®, Apache Web server, and a custom
Java-based J2EE application. In the production environment, the company
uses two Fujitsu SPARC®-based servers running the SolarisTM operating
system for each of the application, database, and web server tiers. With
Fujitsu, ComplianceEase estimates that its performance has increased by at
least 50 percent compared to its previous infrastructure.
The Fujitsu Customer Services team delivered the implementation and
training services for the ETERNUS SAN, and helped ComplianceEase install
the equipment in its disaster recovery center. Fujitsu used its lab to
stage and test the second ETERNUS SAN and the additional SPARC®-based
servers running the SolarisTM operating system, and then sent the
hardware to ComplianceEase's disaster recovery center, where Fujitsu field
engineers installed and retested the system and turned it over to
ComplianceEase.
"For a hosted service such as ComplianceAnalyzer, success depends on a
highly reliable, high performance infrastructure that can continue to
quickly scale without the fear of service interruption," said Richard
McCormack, senior vice president of marketing at Fujitsu Computer Systems
Corporation. "The high performance, reliability, availability, and
flexibility of the Fujitsu ETERNUS SAN and Fujitsu SPARC®-based servers
running the SolarisTM operating system ensure smooth, steady, and
trouble-free growth for ComplianceEase and its customers."
