Fujitsu Delivers Top-Speed Business Analytics With Multi-Node Environment for SAP HANATM

SUNNYVALE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/09/11 -- Fujitsu today heralds the start of a revolution in enterprise real-time decision-making by introducing one of the world's first multi-node environments for running the SAP HANATM platform certified by SAP AG (NYSE: SAP).

Announced today at Fujitsu Forum in Munich, Germany and co-located SAPPHIRE® NOW and SAP TechEd conferences being held in Madrid, Spain, the Fujitsu solution enables enterprises to analyze vast amounts of data to spot new trends, as well as respond in real-time to changing market conditions. This is achieved by harnessing and analyzing massive amounts of transactional business data in real time, backed by the reassurance of data integrity thanks to a highly available, scalable platform.

Fujitsu is one of the first SAP partners to extend the SAP HANA platform to deliver multi-node processing within data center environments, adding high availability and expanding maximum in-memory database instance size by a factor of 8. Now, enterprises can work with multi-terabytes of data in real-time on validated Fujitsu data center infrastructure.

Jens-Peter Seick, Senior Vice-President, Product Development Group at Fujitsu Technology Solutions says: "By introducing additional resilience to the revolutionary SAP HANA platform, we will enable enterprises to accelerate their business analytics by migrating to real-time data environments. This multi-node support for SAP HANA demonstrates that Fujitsu offers a clear choice for enterprises looking to upgrade from conventional database technology."

Fujitsu systems available today provide enterprises with the reassurance of both high availability and the added dimension of scalability for SAP HANA. Enterprise-readiness of the entire solution is underlined by SAP certification for all components, including Fujitsu PRIMERGY servers, NetApp storage and dedicated network infrastructure.

SmartStart for SAP HANA
Fujitsu will also introduce SmartStart for SAP HANA, providing enterprises with a fast track to in-memory, real-time data analytics. Fujitsu SmartStart for SAP HANA provides a rapid-deployment solution that cuts delivery-to-production time from weeks to just five days. Delivered pre-installed and pre-configured, it leverages pre-defined use cases for operational reporting and profitability analysis. The first in an anticipated series of Fujitsu SmartStart solutions for SAP HANA, the solution includes rapid-deployment solution of both operational reporting and profitability analysis with the SAP® ERP application and SAP HANA. SAP Rapid Deployment solutions provide customers with project predictability, choice and tight integration.

By choosing Fujitsu SmartStart for SAP HANA, business users from departments such as finance can see near-instant results from the impact of the implementation of SAP HANA into daily operations -- with profit analysis scenarios allowing controllers response times of seconds as opposed to hours, while profitability analysis can be drilled down to material level, allowing better exploitation of financial data in comparison to classical object-based databases.

Earlier this year, data center technologies from Fujitsu were certified by SAP to run SAP HANA, and a Global Demo Center in support of SAP HANA opened in September, enabling Fujitsu enterprise customers to better understand how implementing the technology can boost their business velocity and sharpen their competitive edge.

Stefan Sigg, Senior Vice-President, In-Memory Platform at SAP says: "By achieving SAP certification for running SAP HANA on its multi-node environment, Fujitsu is underlining its position as a leading SAP partner worldwide. SAP and Fujitsu have a long heritage of partnering to help accelerate the mass-market adoption of new enterprise-class technology. With this latest multi-node support of SAP HANA and the innovative Fujitsu SmartStart for SAP HANA, Fujitsu is helping to accelerate the revolution towards enterprises being able to use 'big data' in real-time decision making."
